| Name: | Sora Ackhart |
|---|
name & series; Sora Ackheart; KINGDOM HEARTS.
race & ethnicity; Human; Japanese-American.
age; Fifteen.
gender; Male.
sexuality; Sora is in that stage of life where he isn't interested in relationships yet, but he is more than happy to be able to make friends with members of either sex. (He's most probably bi, though.)
appearance; Probably the first physical feature of Sora's that would catch your eye would be his hair. His lightish-brown locks stick out at every which angle, and no one has a clue on how that happened. He's often asked exactly how much bottles of hairgel he has to use daily to keep it that way, and always replies that it's natural, with a confused look on his face as if it completely normal by common standards. His eyes are sky blue, and fit his given name very well; there's constantly a spark in them that warmly welcomes new people.
He is quite lean and of a shorter stature than most other boys his age, but his hair easily remedies for the lost height, and then some in cases. Years of training have made him strong, and is actually quite muscular if you look--just like... subtlely; he's definitely not ripped, oh no.
Clothing-wise, Sora probably wouldn't stick out in a crowd of people. His normal outfit consists of a small black shirt-jacket...type-thing with white trim; a navy undershirt; and black pants with double yellow belts. He seems fond of his yellow-and-black shoes, and sometimes people wonder just how big his feet are, since those things are HUGE. He wears black gloves, which protect his hands from blisters when he wields his weapon. He also wears a silver necklace with a crown pendant; a gift from his father from when he was younger, and one of the few things he has left to believe that his dad is still out there somewhere.
personality; Light-hearted and optimistic, Sora is one of the friendliest people you could ever come across. He is almost always seen with a smile on his face, and his cheerfulness has been said to sometimes be contagious. He's the kind of person that someone could feel comfortable with right away, and just constantly gives off that pleasant vibe. He's just easy to get along with.
Friends are an important thing to Sora's being. They're the most important people to him, after his family, of course. He believes it's his duty to protect them, whatever the cost, and never sees them as a burden. Whenever they're happy, he is too, so it all works out. He can definitely hold his ground while he's alone, but is at the top of his game when he's with his buddies.
Though he tends come off as simple-minded, maybe even dull, at times and often lacks common sense, he has a very powerful sense of right and wrong. He's the type of person that didn't really care if people disliked him or something; just as long as he was having fun and had his friends with him, he'd be able to make it through to the next day. He follows what his heart tells him to do, and does his best not to let other people steer him otherwise.
abilities & weaponry; Because of the skills of his parents, Sora is able to see the souls of the dearly departed, and can let them pass on to the next life, by befriending them and helping them get over their final regrets. In the case of spiteful spirits, though, he can use his "spirit weapon" (which he can summon at any time, provided he's not too exhausted) to exorcise them. This weapon manifests itself in the form of an oversized key.
His spirit weapon, which he calls a Keyblade, definitely lives up to its name; it appears to be a combination of a key and a sword. With it, he can see and "lock" a sort of hole in an evil spirit's heart, which is usually caused by the last thing that happened to the ghost when it was still alive. When this hole is locked, the exorcism is complete, and the ghost is no longer tied to the physical plane. Sora can also use the Keyblade against non-spiritual enemies; getting whacked with a huge metallic key does hurt, after all. In addition to this, it can unlock a variety of locks; not all, though, since that would be godmodding, of course. ♥
The Keyblade is also quite heavy; if a normal person were to hold it, gravity would probably take over and drag the wielder down with them. Despite the fact that he is of a shorter stature than average, Sora is physically strong, and can pack quite a punch even without his weapon.
weaknesses; What could possibly be Sora's greatest weakness lies in the friends that he treasures so much--he would surely do anything for them, no questions asked; and if they were in some sort of threatening situation, he would do everything in his power to keep them safe, even if it were to involve something as extreme as sacrificing himself; only under dire, dire conditions, though.
He is also quite naïve, and as such, can be completely clueless in circumstances that would require him to use his common sense. He can be totally oblivious to another person's feelings, even if they were to be tapdancing while wearing a hooker outfit in his face. Er, if feelings could do that, of course. And adding onto this, Sora is also very trusting; though his sense of justice is strong overall, he can still be tricked into befriending a potential enemy without realizing it.
Physical ability also comes into play. Sora is quite strong in his own right, but he can still be easily overpowered depending on his foe--he's only human, of course.
history; Flashback to fifteen years prior to the start of the current storyline. A woman named Akiko Hikari, descended from a long line of Japanese miko, and a man named Rory Ackhart, an exorcist living in America, eloped one day and conceived a child; this boy would be known as Sora Ackhart.
Growing up in America, Sora was raised in a normal middle-class society, loved dearly by both of his parents. But when he was still young, he learned that he had a special... talent.
"Mommy..." he had told his mother one day.
"Hm?" she responded.
"I..."
"Sora, dear, what's wrong?"
"I... I think I see dead people."
His parents then concluded that, due to their unusual gifts, their son would receive powers from both of them. As time passed by, though, Sora actually came to accept his ability; in fact, with his outgoing personality, he even started to make friends with some of the ghosts he met. He had also inherited his father's exorcism abilities, but at first they had nothing to do with destroying the spirits; just by talking to the ghosts and helping them fulfill their last requests, he was able to let them finally leave for the afterlife.
When he had told his friends about this, however, they rejected him, not wanting to be hanging around with a "freak." Though he was a little hurt by this, Sora was still able to find solstice within two of his best friends--a boy slightly older than him and a girl his age--who stuck by him. In their company, he was able to recover and regained his sunny disposition once again; though this time, he was more careful about who he chose to tell of his gift.
Over the years, he had helped many lost souls find their peace, but he would never forget his first encounter with an evil spirit. The young boy, then probably eleven or twelve, was walking home from school one day when his sixth sense picked up something strange. Telling his two friends to go home without him, Sora walked into a seemingly deserted alley when a ghost attacked him. Though fearful at first, he stood his ground, and when he thought it would be over, a giant key materialized in his hands. Without him doing anything, it shot a beam out at the ghost, which then disappeared; Sora swore he heard a voice whisper "Thank you..." in the wind. When he got home, his father was surprised; he was a gifted child. He then explained to his son about the key, and how it was his "spirit weapon" that he could use to free the vengeful souls trapped in this world.
Somewhere along the way, Sora's proficiency at what he could do had reached the ears of a shady organization called... the Organization. Anyways. This Organization took interest in his abilities, as both his mother and father had earned their dislike. They then added Sora to their hit list. When Rory out about this, he seemingly disappeared, only leaving a piece of paper with a simple message written on it behind for his son: "If something ever happens, I'll be in Allupato, Italy. Be safe, Sora."
Before his departure, however, he had explained to Akiko what was going on, and that it would be best to relocate as soon as possible. Following his advice, she took off with Sora, and the two took a flight to Italy. Once they had stopped half-way in England to transfer planes, Akiko sent her son off to complete the journey on his own; she had gotten a message that some family issues had come up back in her homeland of Japan, and that she only had enough money for herself to make the new trip. Wishing Sora good luck, Akiko gave her son a protective charm, and left for Japan, while Sora boarded the plane and finally landed in a nearby Italian city.
At one point on his way to Allupato, Sora had met a young girl about his age, who was a magic user. Unbeknownst to him, the girl had been employed by the Organization to erase his memories, so that it would be easier for them to capture him. Though she did succeed, she didn't treat him as she did previous victims of her power. She found him interesting, and while she wiped out things from his memory, she substituted some with herself, weaving an image of her into Sora's mind. He then believed that he had known the girl from their childhood, and that she was a close friend of his. Though apparently, the guilt had gotten to her; she actually felt it was wrong to be doing things, but was afraid of what the Organization would have done to her if she didn't, and told him the truth. But even as he learned this, Sora still considered her his friend, and promised her that he would help her escape, which he did... and what made him an even bigger target for the Organization.
Anyways, afterwards, the girl offered to restore his memory in exchange for the loss of a year of his life--the time it would take to restore them--and the memory of her. Though Sora, who didn't want to lose her friendship, reluctantly agreed, she told him that they would meet again one day. As soon as his memories were restored, though, the girl disappeared without Sora ever getting to thank her--not that he would have remembered, anyways.
Still unknowingly pursued by the Organization that had been after the strange power in his bloodline, Sora then resumed his adventure to Allupato, hoping that he would finally be reunited with his father after so many years once he reached his destination.
Organization/Pack/Clan/Guild?: None, at the moment; could consider joining one in the future, though.
{Sora is played by
roxora; she is not the real Sora, nor (as much as she wishes) owns him in any way.}
